The Foundations in Restorative Justice & Peacemaking Course (FJRP) seeks to equip a new generation of Jesus-followers for sustainable work in Christian mission through healing justice, radical mercy and peacemaking. As the cornerstone course of the Peace Studies Degree Track for the UofN, the FRJP will give you the necessary tools to help cultivate a robust spirituality and a compassionate activism as you follow Jesus in a world groaning for justice and new creation.

YWAM Muizenberg

Steve Schallert

Steve Schallert is a husband, father of five, international speaker, activist, musician and avid follower of the Jesus Way. Having traveled to over 60 countries, witnessing the best and worst that humanity is capable of along the way, Steve’s driving passion is to champion and equip the body of Christ to work for peace through building compassion for the poor and provoking imagination. He and his family currently call Cape Town, South Africa home where he serves as the Director of Training at YWAM Muizenberg and is the cofounder of A Life Together, an ever growing global network of grassroots peace practitioners and trainers.

Dr. Samuel Sarpiya

Dr. Samuel Sarpiya is the Executive Director at the Center for Nonviolence and Conflict Transformation in Rockford, Illinois. Previously he served as Moderator of the Church of the Brethren. Currently based in Dunham, Quebec, Dr. Sarpiya regularly engages in peacemaking around the globe. He trained Nigerian Security Agencies to use peaceful strategies to engage with the radical Islamist group Boko Haram, and police officers in Chicagoland and Ohio to use community transformation techniques to address the challenges of racial profiling within police departments. Dr. Sarpiya is available for mediation training and conflict transformation consulting services.
